Where it gets confusing

Hey All,

It’s been awhile since I’ve had a chance to post so here we go. I’ve been trying to keep up with the posting on the men’s health website for 52DC and so far so good. I’ve lost a total of 16 pounds since Dec. 24th and I’m feeling better all around. I had an appointment with my Doctor the other day and he has confused me somewhat. Though he was happy about the weight loss, he is concerned about my cholesterol levels.  He has prescribed a low dose of Zocor and recommended a drastic cut back in the amount of red meat and eggs that I’m consuming. I understand the concern, but also don’t want to be taking medications for the rest of my life if I can help it naturally. I’m supposed to go back in about three months to get blood work done again and I didn’t have any previous blood work to compare this weeks results with. I’ve only been on the TNT eating plan for a little over a month and I’m hoping that three months from now the numbers will be much better.  My confusion comes from the red meat and eggs part of all of this. Should I cut back on the red meat and eggs? Will TNT work without the red meat and eggs? Will the cholesterol numbers go in the right direction if I follow the plan as is and don’t worry about the red meat and eggs?  I’m in the middle of something that seems to be working for me and I don’t want it to stop, but I don’t want to shorten my life by raising my cholesterol either.  Any and all suggestion on this matter are much appreciated.

Jobee9er: Go to my blog. I have my Cholesterol numbers for the past two years plus a base from 2 years prior to starting low carb eating. My numbers keep going down. Your Doc is following the traditional low fat world. I am not going to put my self against a physician - but it worked for me. Is this the first Cholesterol blood test you have had done? What are all your numbers? If you want PM me.
    Good Luck

One further thing - TNT will work with a reduction in Red meat and Eggs - BUT - The question is - Is it necessary?

Congratulations on the weight loss! Good luck with your cholesterol numbers, my hubby has cholesterol issues, not on meds. dr. wants to see if he can control without meds. Sounds like you have a workout and diet plan that is working for you…the weight loss/exercise has to definately help with your cholesterol. TNT Man is the BEST!!! I am sure he can help guide you on the TNT issues.
